MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Writing technical/management sections and volumes, as well as leading resume and past performance volumes when needed
  • Applying interpersonal and elicitation skills to gather concepts, solutions, processes, approaches and strategies from internal and external personnel to support writing activities.
  • Working as part of a collaborative team to develop proposal sections that clearly articulate the team’s solution and strategy, approach to performing the work, experience, win themes, and discriminators
  • Collaborating with business unit staff on the most effective way to present proposed approaches and solutions and to substantiate claims
  • Writing clear, persuasive, and articulate proposal sections that translate complex ideas into easily understandable text
  • Using organizational skills to track and report on assignments, status, and issues and needs.
  • Identifying, resolving, and escalating (if needed) gaps and risks to proposal management and Proposal Center leadership
  • Developing and implementing improvements to help improve proposal quality (processes, examples, guidance, etc.)
  • Mentoring business unit staff on proposal analysis and writing
  • THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, the Physical Sciences, Engineering or other relevant field or equivalent
  • 10 years of proposal development with a minimum of 5 years in the federal contracting industry 
  • Demonstrated success writing and leading technical, management, resume, and/or past performance volumes
  • Demonstrated excellent writing skills, including understanding of grammatical rules, punctuation, sentence structure, and active/passive voice
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational and team skills to track and share work progress and action items using a variety of tools
  • Advanced Microsoft Word and Adobe skills
  • Ability to surge work schedule to meet proposal schedule demands
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment with a variety of personnel and organizations
  • Willingness to travel to regional office sites and partner locations across the United States
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a government security clearance
  • THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED
  • Association of Proposal Management Professional certification
  • Experience as a technical editor on proposals
  • Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) clearance
