FI Consulting is seeking a skilled full-time Financial Technical Writer to work in our Arlington, VA Headquarters and throughout the Metro DC area on client projects.
Company: FI Consulting (FI) specializes in providing financial institution clients with custom analytics, model development, advisory services, and development support for financial and analytic-focused software. Our experience spans commercial, government, non-profit, and international sector financial institutions and diverse sectors of the credit market including mortgages, small business loans, consumer finance, and renewable fuels.
As a Technical Financial Writer the ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience creating, reviewing, and editing financial research and annual reports for federal clients.
Duties will require learning financial research topics and providing editing/writing for researchers with our client. Providing support by performing the following duties:
Responsibilities: The financial research related writer/editor support will provide an editorial function for all client research, analysis, and monitoring products and projects. This would include support on the client Annual Report, Congressional Reports, and any materials that concern client research, analysis, and monitoring products/projects, which could include, for example, a press release to launch a product or updates for our clients. The support will be directly supporting the client external affairs team, so it will support research and data projects and products in a way that subjects them to a final review prior to publication or distribution. This independent review will help to minimize errors and inconsistencies in these products. Using specific templates and guidelines; create, review, edit, and revise a variety of documentation to include research, analysis, and monitoring products and projects, briefings and other project deliverables relating to client business under tight deadlines Proof all division documents to ensure they are error free Ensure templates are updated with current style guidelines, links, and images and stored in the designated central location Knowledge of desktop publishing software to the capability of document design manipulation, formatting, and page layout Consult relevant information sources, including library resources, technical and financial documents, and client and project personnel, to obtain background information, and verify pertinent guidelines and regulations governing project deliverables Participate in internal and external meetings to ensure feedback is incorporated into office articles and publications Prepare written replies of routine and on-going issues regarding program updates Provide recommendations regarding communication of project planning, status, and results to stakeholders Maintain reports, record keeping, and quality control associated with organizational goals and initiatives Assist in writing documents for management reviews; work with project staff to provide document integrity Developed papers for presentation to client and assist with the development of presentation materials and reports to support program managers as needed Must be able to handle multiple tasks at one time, and short deadlines Must be able to give and receive constructive feedback when editing work
Qualifications: Proven expertise on how to capture complex financial information and translate it for consumption by a Congressional audience A Bachelor’s Degree in English or related discipline, PhD in Economics is preferred but not required A minimum of 3 years’ experience required with at least 1-year specialized writing and editing of financial technical documents Strong analytical, data gathering, editing, and document management skills Excellent oral and written communication skills US Citizenship is a required security measure for our client. Candidate must be qualified to meet the requirements of a full background investigation
