Job Description Summary

Summary

Coordinates with technical writers, subject matter experts, and operational resources during the revision process, makes recommendations and offers guidance when implementing feedback, and adheres to editorial standards for length and readability. Manages opportunity-specific style conventions (capitalization, hyphenation, etc.).

Work requires considerable judgment and initiative. Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization. Completes understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards.

Understands implication of work and provides recommendations for solutions. Communicates on challenging or escalated issues. May instruct or coach other professionals. Works under general direction. Participates in determining objectives of assignments. Plans, schedules, and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Final product is reviewed for adequacy in meeting objectives.


Job Details:

• Edits, proofreads, organizes, and rewrites content as necessary to meet requirements.

• Monitors deadlines, maintains contact with reviewers, and answers inquiries pertaining to content through e-mail
and telephone communication.

• Participates in all phases of proposal development from RFP release to submittal to ensure consistent application of
editorial standards.

• Supports the development and maintenance of a writing team content library.

• Review content to create concise, compelling, credible proposal narratives.

• Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems.

• Review proposal materials (RFP, RFI), client intelligence, competitive intelligence.

• Perform peer review and/or color team review editing assignment.

• Review and maintenance a content library.


Additional Requirements:

Excellent writing and editing skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy and strong verbal communication skills;

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience; Advanced degree or professional designation preferred;

Experience working both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment;

Ability to multitask effectively while performing job duties, including ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines;

Ability to effectively describe complex, technical solution details to lay audiences;

Proficient computer and software skills, including Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint;

Experience reviewing proposal content in response to federal, state, or commercial RFPs.
