Main Purpose of Job

As the Demand Planner, you will improve the accuracy and reliability of the Demand Plan through projection of the most realistic estimate of customer demand in collaboration with other functions (Sales, Marketing, Finance,eg.) and handle exceptions to improve the responsiveness of the organization's Supply Chain in fulfilling customer demand.

The key contribution of Demand planning is driving clear communication among all the MBP partners about risks, constraints and opportunities.


Collate Information and Assumptions:

Ensure dedication from all functions, build and maintain good communication and collaboration both within Supply Chain and with Sales and Marketing, Manufacturing and Finance, according to the Monthly Business Planning (MBP) standard methodologies including highlighting variances vs financial forecast and risks. Capture, prioritize, analyze Marketing and Sales events; customer, consumer & competitor information; other external / internal trends and influences which impact demand.


Manage Portfolio and Lifecycle:

Effectively use Demand Planning system to enable an exception based management approach.

Maintain system to reflect the lifecycle of products (predecessors, successors, temporary promotional).

Collaborate with Marketing and Sales by providing input on a regular basis regarding product launches, portfolio optimization, rationale of commercial decisions, promotions and customer behavior.


Develop and Maintain the Forecast:

Use appropriate statistical models and parameters in partnership with the statisticians team to enrich statistical forecasts and generate accurate base demand forecast for 78-week horizon by DC/National level. Generate and maintain a demand plan for a given portfolio of products, locations and/or customers, at the levels (product hierarchy and time) at which business decisions are taken. Focus on and deliver a stable demand plan, taking into account recent events, along with achievement of Demand Plan Accuracy (DPA), controlled variability of accuracy and no detailed bias. Ensure that business planning is operated at the accurate level of aggregation (product hierarchy and time).


Track and Manage Demand:

Actively follow-up actual sales to customers and sell-out data (POS) to identify outstanding or un-forecasted activities. Drive fast, appropriate actions to minimize the impact of deviations from the Demand Plan. Communicate these actions to partner.


Maintain Data and Systems:

Build and maintain the appropriate master data in the planning systems, minimizing errors, avoiding duplication and obsolescence.

Maintain system health to ensure demand signals are clear

Requirements and minimum education level:

Bachelors in Industrial Engineering, business, Marketing or equivalent combination of education and experience


Experience:

5 years of multifaceted and successful Supply Chain or Sales / Marketing experience.

Strong analytical aptitude with a proven track record to analyze/interpret data and build quantitative models of business problems.

Excellent oral and written skills, organizational and time-management abilities, effective interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with personnel at all organizational levels.

Excellent creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to sophisticated problems that may not have one clear answer.

Ability to take care of ambiguity and deal with pushback as part of building a forecast with cross-functional partners.
